D800, D800E & D600 - Rank top of the DxOMark Scoreboard

We are delighted to announce that Nikon’s new full-frame DSLR, the D600 has bagged the number three spot in the latest DxOMark scoreboard. DxOMark is the trusted industry standard for camera and lens independent image quality measurements and ratings, with the Nikon brand featuring 6 times out of the top ten listed cameras.

The scores are tight for the industry standard’s top rated cameras, as the D600 falls only two points behind Nikon leaders, the Nikon D800 & D800E.

Nikon D4 - the first DSLR camera fit for broadcast

Nikon’s pro range reaches new heights this week as the D4 has opened an important door into the professional video broadcasting market. The camera has become the first DSLR camera to pass the very elaborate European Broadcasting Union (EBU) test, commonly referred to as the BBC Test.

These tests were conducted by Alan Roberts, who spent most of his career in research and development at the BBC and wrote the new EBU guidelines and testing procedures. Alan commented that the D4 exhibited the lowest amount of rolling shutter he has ever seen in a CMOS equipped camera. He also commented that the exposure latitudes of the D4 were truly remarkable at around 13 stops; a figure only bettered by top grade LS rated cameras.

It seems the Nikon D4is on a winning streak, with the camera recently picking up awards such as TIPA Best Expert DSLR 2012, GP2012 Camera of the Year & European Camera of the Year 2012. This further showcases the strength of Nikon’s superior technology across both photography and film.

Nikon D4 and D800 Reign Supreme

Both our Nikon D4 and D800 have walked away with top honours at the European Imaging and Sound Association Awards this year. The EISA awards form part of the most prestigious photographic events on the calendar, judged by panels representing over 50 prominent photo/audio/electronics magazines across Europe.

European Professional Camera of the Year 2012-2013: the Nikon D4

The EISA judges said: The D4 delivers the highest image quality even in extremely difficult conditions. Tests performed by EISA magazines found the camera has an exceptional combination of high resolution, wide dynamic range, very low noise levels even at ISO 12800, super-fast autofocus, short response time and high frame rates that can be maintained for very long sequences. Almost perfect handling makes the D4 very easy and pleasant to use and we especially like the new joystick control that’s available whether the camera is in the horizontal or vertical position. The D4 also delivers very high video quality thanks to its uncompressed output.

European Camera of the Year 2012-2013: the Nikon D800

The EISA judges said: The D800’s 36-million-pixel full frame sensor offers exceptionally high resolution capture. No compromises have been made to the extent of the camera’s dynamic range or noise levels at high ISO settings. In a compact and reasonably priced, strong and sturdy body, it offers first-rate metering and a 51-point autofocus system developed from the professional D4.
