New assignment - 'Australian for Life'

08 November, 2010 | My Nikon Life | Comments

Surf Life Saving is one of Australia’s most trusted and well-loved brands. It represents the Australian way of life – from our active outdoor lifestyle to our love of beaches, and our community spirit to our strong sense of mateship.

As part of our partnership with Surf Life Saving, we’re excited to announce a very special My Nikon Life assignment – Australian for Life. You can enter the assignment right now by clicking here.

In this assignment we ask you examine and document, through photography, what you think being Australian is. We ask nothing more and expect nothing less. Just capture the essence of what Australian for Life means to you – whether it be a day at the beach, a BBQ, with your family or whatever you like.

The Prizes

There will be seven (7) prizes, one for NSW/ACT, VIC, SA, WA, QLD, NT, and TAS.

The winners will each receive -
1. Enrolment into Nikon School’s ‘Introduction to DSLR’ course.
2. Nikon D3100 DSLR 18-55mm VR & 55-300mm VR twin lens kit valued at $1449 RRP.
3. A one day ‘Nikon Ambassador Experience’ – each winner will be flown from their nearest capital city to spend a day with a Nikon Ambassador.

Who will be judging the images?

SLS spokesperson and Australian swimming legend Geoff Huegill with Nikon Ambassador and adventure photographer Mark Watson will be our final judges for this assignment.

Geoff Huegill has said that the competition is an opportunity for all communities, young and old, to embrace the start of warmer weather, get outside, get active and photograph some of their favourite Australian moments. “As a judge of the competition, I am looking forward to seeing the diverse and inspiring photos our nation comes up with which define their Australian for Life moment.”

So how do I get started?

All you need to do is submit a minimum of one (1) photo and a maximum of five (5) photos that satisfy the brief. It’s free to enter – so go for it! Simply head to the assignment page, upload your photographs by clicking ‘Enter Now’, and you’re away. Good luck! We look forward to seeing your entries.
