Tropfest Entries Are Now Open!

As the official camera partner of Tropfest Australia, we are pleased to announce that entries for Tropfest 2013 are now open.

On the 8th December, at a new location in Centennial Park, this year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever!

Celebrating the production of short films in Australia, Tropfest encourages great storytelling from filmmakers of all levels of experience.
This year’s Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) that must feature in all films entered into the festival is, ‘Change’ – no easy challenge for this year’s entrants.

As well as having their film screened to hundreds of thousands nationwide, the Tropfest 2013 finalists are in the running to win some incredible prizes including a Nikon D800 DSLR plus $2,000 RRP worth of Nikkor lenses and accessories; tools for future cinematic endeavours.

The Nikon DSLR category will also return this year with the winner taking home a Nikon D600 plus $3,000 RRP of Nikkor lenses.

New Firmware Update for D7100 Now Available

Nikon would like to advise that there is a new firmware update for D7100 now available for download.

This update resolves the following issues:

• When images captured using a flash in “Manual” or “Repeating” flash mode were played back with the “Overview” display enabled, flash output level was displayed in the flash compensation portion of the display.
• When the “AE/AF lock” button was pressed with “Special Effects” mode enabled, “Selective Color” selected, and the view magnified with selective color options displayed in live view, the image did not change while live view was active.
• An issue that caused the “Viewfinder Virtual Horizon” to freeze when certain operations were performed.
• When images captured with white balance bracketing enabled were played back, a white balance fine-tuning value of 9 (steps) was displayed even for images captured with a fine-tuning value of 10 (steps) applied.
• An issue that prevented cursor movement when certain operations were performed in calendar playback mode.
• The size of some text displayed in calendar playback mode has been modified.
• Display of focal lengths in 35mm 135 format recorded in image Exif data has been corrected.
• With movie recording at “1920 × 1080/24p” in “M” exposure mode, subject brightness did not change, even when shutter speed was adjusted.

Nikon Celebrates 80 Million Nikkor Lenses

Nikon Australia is excited to announce that the production of NIKKOR lenses for Nikon interchangeable lens cameras reached a total of eighty million in mid June 2013.
At the beginning of November 2012, total production of NIKKOR lenses for Nikon SLR cameras reached seventy-five million. Since then, we have continued to actively release new NIKKOR lenses.

The current lineup of Nikkor lenses for cameras with interchangeable lenses consists of more than 80 types of lenses, including ultra wide-angle to super-telephoto lenses, fisheye lenses, zoom lenses, micro lenses, and PC-E lenses that support a wide variety of applications, as well as 1 NIKKOR lenses for advanced cameras with interchangeable lenses.
